Variable flow controller kVAV1

Intended use

kVAV1 variable flow controller allow for supplying the necessary amount of air resulting from the demand to the room. In this way, optimal comfort is achieved while reducing operating costs. The controllers automatically regulate the flow of the air stream. They are made of a regulating damper and a housing which the actuator is mounted on. The actuator rotates the damper in the desired direction by means of a fixed shaft. Thanks to its construction, the controllers enable creation of optimal conditions in separate zones or rooms in the building, regardless of the heat gains/losses resulting e.g. from the number of people staying in the room.

Construction

The housing and the damper blade are made of galvanized steel sheet as standard, and other material can be used on request. An edge seal with an appropriately selected shape is put on the damper blade to ensure its proper tightness. The damper is mounted axially on the shaft, which is placed in bearings in the housing. The damper's operation is forced by the actuator mounted outside the housing, which is an integral part of the controller. On request, the controllers can be painted in any RAL colour.

The standard actuators used are SIEMENS GDB181.1E/3 and GDB181.1E/MO. IMPORTANT! The actuator is connected with the pressure lines to the measuring cross by the manufacturer. The controller should be connected in accordance with the SIEMENS GDB181.1E/3/GDB181.1E/MO actuator cards by suitably qualified persons.

Assembly recommendations

To ensure proper operation of controllers, it is recommended to install devices according to the following rules.

  • length of the straight section in front of the controller - 1x dimension of the longer side B,
  • length of the straight section behind the controller - 2x dimension of the longer side B,
  • length of the straight section between the controller and the knee - 1x dimension of the longer side B,
  • length of the straight section between the controller and the tee - 2x dimension of the longer side B.

IMPORTANT! The electrical connection of the controller should be performed by a suitably qualified person in accordance with the diagram found in the technical data sheet of the SIEMENS GDB181.1E/3/GDB181.1E/MO actuator.
